PENSACOLA, Fla. – Survivors have until 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, to visit two joint state/federal disaster recovery centers in Okaloosa and Walton counties, but assistance is still available and only a phone call away.

It is not necessary for those affected by the disaster to visit a center in order to register for or receive disaster assistance. In fact, people with storm-related losses are encouraged to register with FEMA before visiting a center.

The disaster recovery centers will continue normal operating hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, June 13, through Tuesday, June 17. The centers are closed Sunday. To date, the centers have received more than 750 visits combined.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency and village officials in Diamond have announced that residents affected by the Nov. 17 tornadoes can meet with disaster assistance specialists this week beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Diamond Village Hall.

Survivors can get questions answered about available federal disaster assistance programs, help with registration for assistance, and learn about other programs available from the Small Business Administration, state and local agencies and voluntary organizations. Residents must apply with FEMA even if they have already provided damage information to local officials, other agencies or organizations.

Disaster Information Available on July 4th Holiday

AURORA, Ill. After the spring storms and flooding that took place between April 16 and May 5, many affected residents have spoken to representatives from insurance companies and state and local agencies about disaster assistance and may be under the mistaken impression they have registered with FEMA. 

The way to know for sure that you have registered with FEMA is if you have been assigned a nine-digit Registration Identification Number, which verifies your registration status.
