Little Rock, Ark. – Survivors of the April 27 severe storms, tornadoes and floods have until      2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, to visit the Disaster Recovery Centers in Mayflower and Vilonia.

The state and FEMA have closely monitored visitor traffic at the centers in Arkansas. Traffic to these centers has significantly decreased, indicating the information needs of survivors in the area have been met. 

Survivors can visit the remaining Disaster Recovery Centers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at:

  • 600 Highway 365, Mayflower, AR 72106

  • 1122 Main St., Vilonia, AR 72173

Disaster Recovery Centers gather different state and federal agencies and programs under one roof, offering survivors convenient access to guidance from a number of resources. Recovery centers are one-stop shops for eligible tornado survivors to get help as quickly as possible. In addition to state and FEMA personnel, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives are available at both centers to provide information and answer questions about SBA low-interest disaster assistance loans to help homeowners, renters and businesses recover.

The registration deadline for Arkansas survivors is June 30, 2014.

Survivors can continue to register and check the status of their applications online at www.disasterassistance.gov or via web-enabled phone at m.fema.gov. They may also call       1-800-621-3362 or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585.  Those who use 711 Relay or Video Relay Services may call 1-800-621-3362. New York Disaster Recovery Centers to end service on Sundays

NEW YORK – All Disaster Recovery Centers in New York will stop offering service on Sundays beginning Feb. 3, 2013. Hurricane Sandy survivors in New York can still receive assistance Monday through Saturday at any recovery center.

The State of New York and the Federal Emergency Management Agency closely monitor visitor traffic at all New York Disaster Recovery Centers and revise hours of operation accordingly. Traffic at the recovery centers has slowed on Sundays. So far, more than 145,000 Hurricane Sandy survivors have visited recovery centers in New York.

In addition, the recovery center located in the Sheepshead Bay Club, 3076 Emmons Ave., Brooklyn, NY, 11235, will close early, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. The center will open at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4.

The recovery center at the American Legion, 209 Cross Bay Blvd., Broad Channel, NY 11693, will open at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

The two centers’ normal operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Survivors who need help may still visit any of the other 17 centers that remain open throughout New York. NEW YORK – Hurricane Sandy survivors in Staten Island, NY have until 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, to visit the disaster recovery center in Midland Park.

The state and FEMA closely monitor visitor traffic at all New York disaster recovery centers. Traffic to this Staten Island center has significantly decreased, indicating the information needs of survivors in the area have been met. 

People who need face-to-face help at that center should visit the center Monday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the corner of Father Capodanno Blvd. and Hunter Ave.

Survivors can visit any of the four disaster recovery centers that remain open in Staten Island or one of the 30 other centers located throughout New York.

In addition, more than 1,000 FEMA community relations personnel continue blanketing damaged neighborhoods, going door-to-door delivering information vital to recovery and encouraging residents with property damage to register for assistance. They can help refer survivors to the proper resources for any unmet disaster needs, but they do not assess or document damage. FEMA inspectors will contact survivors directly after they have registered.

Help is always available by calling FEMA’s toll-free helpline at 800-621-3362. Lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until further notice and assistance is available in most languages.

Survivors who have a speech disability or hearing impairment can call TTY 800-462-7585.
